Residents Affected by Fire at Gembrong Market Willing to Move to Rusunawa

The East Jakarta administration is collecting data on residents affected by the fire in the Gembrong Market area, RW 01, Cipinang Besar Utara (CBU), Jatinegara last Ramadan who will be relocated to the low-cost apartment (Rusunawa).

We will first write to the Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Agency 

East Jakarta Economic and Development Assistant Kusmanto said that based on the results of the temporary data collection, only 90 family cards (KK) would be relocated to the Cipinang Besar Utara Rusunawa.

"We will first write to the Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Agency considering they know more about the technical stuff," he expressed, Thursday (5/12).

Portable Toilets Provided for Fire Victims at Gembrong Market

Currently, many residents have chosen to be relocated to Rusunawa as their houses were badly damaged due to the fire. The reason the cost to rent a house was quite expensive.

"We don't know yet the status of the land in this burned area. Because of reports from residents, their documents were burnt," he explained.

RT 06/01 Chairman, Cipinang Besar Utara Mugiharto added that so far many residents have agreed to be relocated to the rusunawa while waiting for their homes to be rebuilt.

"Our target is building owners," he stated.
